Dog training collars

Introduction to dog training: Dog training is the act of teaching a dog to do certain actions which want it to perform on being given certain distinct set of commands. In this process the basic feature of conditional response of a dog is made use of by making it do the same set of actions again and again for the same commands. There are several methods of training a dog. The training varies as per the need of the trainer, it can be a training to teach basic obedience to the dog, or even a specialization in military activities like bomb diffusing etc or like for the purpose of helping the disabled persons especially the blind ones or even it may be for recreation purposes also.

The use of training collar: These are the collars which are put around the neck of the dog which is to be trained. There are several types of dog training collars.

1.)Choke Collar: It is used in traditional training of dogs. It has a link of metals. The basic use is that whenever the dog is behaving unexpectedly we can tighten the collar and silent the dog.

2.)Pinch Collar: By use of this type of collar, the metal in the collar can be made to pinch the dog at the neck if the dog is behaving in an unexpected or undesirable manner during the process of training.

3.)Collars which are radio-controlled: In this type of collar, the neck portion has the receiver and the trainer holds the transmitter. Whenever the dog performs some unexpected behavior, then the trainer can give small electric shocks by using the transmitter or it can also eject some sprays etc to control the behavior of the dog.

4.)Martingale Collar: Here only specific sections of the collar can be tightened, not like choke collar which is tightened indefinitely.

5.)Head Collar: This type of collar consists of two loops in it. One of the loops is made to pass behind the ears of the dog and the other loop is put over the nose. Thus the dog is under control.
